Where would you go?

When I found this amazing contest to win two free nights at any Hyatt on the blog "Camels and Chocolate: Tales from a Travel Addict", it got me thinking about where I would want to go and why.  Immediately I thought Trinidad and Tobago since this is where my mom is from and while I lived there when I was really little I have no memories of it.  Once I googled whether there was even a Hyatt there (there is!), I decidedthat would be my place, because not only is it an amazingly beautiful place to go (I've seen lots of pictures of me there), but it would be insight into my family history, culture, and who I am.  My dream is go with my mom some day so that I could experience all the newness and excitement of meeting family, and seeing where she lived and grew up with her.  It would be our special vacation together and something that no one else but us would share.  We talk about doing it all the time, but one day soon we'll really make it happen. So the question remains: where would you go?

  1. I have two. One would be Germany for pretty much the same reason as you. I was born there and lived there until I was about 3.
I don't have any family there but i'd like to experience all of that.

My dream place would be going to Ghana and neighboring places in Africa, places that were very much included in the slave trade and I'd love to visit some of the forts that still exist.
Of course I have this big fear of needles so that may take some time

  2. I never knew you were born in Germany, that's really cool!

Africa is also a place on my list as well for the culture and history. Paris is my top romantic place to visit, but I don't speak a lick of French.
